Joint Republican Business Caucus Up and Running

Recently, the first meetings of the Joint Republican Business Caucus (JRBC) were held in Hampton Roads. More than 70 local business leaders were in attendance at three separate meetings.

Business friendly leaders from the House and Senate established the JRBC with the goal to unite House and Senate forces, and to maintain an open dialogue between Virginia’s business community and the General Assembly. Tuesday’s meetings had members from both the House and Senate including: Senate Minority Leader Tommy Norment, Senator Frank Wagner, Senator Harry Blevins, Senator Ryan McDougle, House Commerce and Labor Chairman Terry Kilgore, House General Laws Chairman Chris Jones, House Health, Welfare, and Institutions Chairman Philip Hamilton, Delegate Tim Hugo, Delegate Glen Oder, and Delegate Barry Knight.

“With our nation’s economy struggling and increased regulation trickling down from Washington it is more important than ever to keep in touch with Virginia’s business community and stimulate economic growth,” said Co-Chairman Tim Hugo.

“This is an effort to create continuous and candid dialogue between the General Assembly and Virginia’s business community,” said Co-Chairman Ryan McDougle. “I look forward to future meetings around the Commonwealth where we will listen to the concerns of business leaders.”
