Senator Ryan McDougle Appointed to

Serve on the Virginia Code Commission

Richmond, Virginia: On April 18, 2006 the Senate Committee on Rules appointed Senator Ryan McDougle (R-Mechanicsville) to the Code Commission. The Virginia Code Commission was created in 1946 in order to codify the Acts of Assembly from that year and all prior years. Today it continues to supervise the codification of the statutes after each session of the General Assembly. In addition to revising individual titles of the Code of Virginia, the Code Commission also works to identify unnecessary and obsolete provisions of the Code.

“I am humbled and honored by the fact that my colleagues in the Senate have placed confidence in me to be part of the team that will continually review the Code of Virginia to ensure its clarity and to eliminate old and obsolete statutes.”

McDougle is serving in his first term as State Senator after serving four years in the House of Delegates.
